I recently had the honor of being part of a wonderful team of teachers offering a 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training in Seven Springs Tennessee. The Kula Collective holds 200 and 500 hour Yoga Teacher Trainings all over the world, and I had the pleasure of helping a group of 10 new yoga teachers learn to share the practice.
The students (now teachers!), learned the asanas (poses), philosophy (yoga sutras), pranayama (breathing practices) and meditation techniques that they can now share with students from many different different walks of life.
The program included karma work, where the students were able to give back to local community by offering their hands to a fresh food forest in downtown Knoxville, bringing fresh fruits and vegetables to a neighborhood without access to grocery stores or farmer's markets.
It really was amazing to witness the transformation and growth in the new teachers over the 200 hour program. I felt both humbled and honored to share a small part in their journey, and am truly grateful for everything my wife and partner Erin Schifferli held during the month of June that made the space for me to be able to say yes to this wonderful opportunity.
I'm glad to be home here now with her, our children, and this bright western New York community! I'm looking forward to sharing practices with all of you here at JoyWheel once again, and am happy to hold the lessons I learned in Tennessee in my heart.
