Yoga is an ancient and ever-evolving practice of connecting authentically with one's true self. If we imagine Yoga as a great tree, then we would see that the roots and branches of this tree spread far and wide. Traditional yoga encompasses everything from living mindfully, breathing practices, physical movements or asanas, and meditation. In the West, many think of yoga as a set of physical poses; in reality, Yoga is many different kinds of practices that all point to the same direction. Yoga, or conscious union, is a path of living your life with awareness and a set of tools and techniques to help bring us back to center when we find that stress, injuries, distractions, or other obstacles are present.
Our open classes are regularly or semi-regularly occurring classes that you are welcome to join at any time. These classes are generally for all levels and you can always find the current offerings on our schedule. You're welcome to drop-in or use a class pass.
These classes or series are special classes, workshops, or seminars that you can register for. Many of our Prenatal yoga, meditation, and family classes are special events. You can see what is happening this season on our Special Events page.
Working with and sharing experiences in the community is very important to us. We often work with local groups, organizations, musicians, and others to bring in some of the richness and wisdom that is all around this amazing community.
Exploring yoga with your own personalized practice has many benefits. The practice is customized just for you, which helps you more easefully and quickly find how conscious breathing, poses, and movements fit your unique body. It also helps you establish a simple home practice that will help you make your wellness and wholeness a solid and sustainable priority that will take care of you and help you grow more fully into your own self.
Private yoga sessions are an excellent way to work specifically with a physical or mental state that can be made better through the practice of yoga. We've worked with people with many different injuries and body stories, as well as those who are working with anxiety, depression, addiction, and feelings of discomfort and dis-ease. Yoga and meditation practice truly can benefit everyone.

Q: I’m new to yoga, where do I start?
A: First, WELCOME! Next, follow these simple guidelines to help get you on the mat and benefiting from this practice. Remember, there is zero competition in yoga and everyone’s path is different.
- Schedule a private or semi-private session with a teacher and learn how to best navigate your practice within your specific personal, physical and lifestyle needs
- Join a Yoga For Beginners class – offered seasonally
- Be sure to let your instructor know that you are new to yoga if you choose to join and all-levels class.
Q: What do I do when I first arrive?
A: Try to arrive for classes 10-15 minutes before they begin to give yourself time to remove shoes or any outdoor wear, use the restroom and set up your yoga mat and props (as needed). It is important not to rush in or out of your yoga practice. Think of it as beginning your yoga practice as soon as you enter the building.
Q: What should I wear to class?
A: Please wear comfortable stretchy clothing that is not too loose. You do not want your t-shirt flapping up when you move or to constantly be adjusting bulky clothing. Breathable fitted active wear works well for any yoga class. Please leave your scented items at home and do not wear them (perfumes or colognes) when you come to yoga. We do a lot of breathing in class and many people have sensitivities to fragrances. Natural essential oils, deodorant and shampoos etc do not apply to this.
Q: Can I pay with my insurance?
We hope so! We accept all HSA & Wellness debit cards that have any major credit card affiliation (such as VISA) on them. We also accept Independent Health’s FlexFit Active, Personal best and FlexFit Family debit cards. We have inquired into accepted BCBS MANY times in the past several years; however, they have told us that they are no longer accepting new Wellness Providers. If you wish, you can call BCBS or any other insurance group and ask for reimbursement.
