Erin Schifferli MS RDN - Holistic Nutrition Bio

Erin has always enjoyed observing food grow. As a girl she planted summer squash on her neighbor’s farm. Guided by her aunt’s recipe, she would bake zucchini bread to share with family and wonder at the transformation from seed to fruit, and finally, to bread shared at the table joyfully.

Whole Real Food that is clean, non-toxic and pesticide free offers our body, mind and whole- self nourishment. Food is part of daily living and when we eat well (or not) it effects every aspect of life on the planet. As humans we can cultivate conscious connection with the act of nourishment, especially when we consume food with awareness. Food and nutrition are part of a living cycle that has long been interdependent with the web of nature. Knowing where our food comes from and how it was grown empowers our decision making process.

Within her holistic private practice Erin encourages all people to focus on more than “what” they eat. By learning to closely examine and understand the what, where, when, why, and how of eating people discover the joy of mindful eating. By providing realistic methods, tools, meal plans, and recipes that fit the lifestyle and personality of each client, Erin offers direct support for people working to heal their relationship with food and grow healthy eating habits that sustain for a lifetime. Fostering a healthy connection with food and mealtime allows space for deep and satisfying nourishment.

Erin has been a practicing Registered Dietitian Nutritionist since 2006 and founded her private practice in 2008. She has experience working clinically in hospitals and medical centers, with Cornell Cooperative Extension developing and teaching nutrition education programs throughout WNY, collaborating with corporate nutrition and wellness programs, and has volunteered hundreds of hours in schools, colleges, non-profits, and at local independent wellness fairs.

Within her holistic private practice Erin has worked with many nutrition related issues including: diabetes, gestational diabetes, pregnancy nutrition, fertility nutrition, lactation nutrition, pediatric nutrition, disordered or dysfunctional eating, emotional eating, heart disease, overweight and obesity, cancer and recovery, autism spectrum disorder, mental health (including anxiety and depression), teen athletes / sports nutrition, and mindful eating. Erin loves taking clients, groups, and organizations on grocery stour tours, she also offers cooking lessons from basic to advanced.

Food brings us together, it nourishes us deeply, and when we choose our food with consciousness, it can support a healthier planet.

Humankind has not woven the web of life. We are but one thread within it. Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves.” ~ Chief Seattle

Erin Schifferli 500HR E-RYT - Yoga Bio

Yoga arrived in Erin’s life in the year 2000. The practice brought healing for her shoulder pain and a newfound sense of wellbeing. She was both inspired and curious. Breathing, balancing, and most powerful of all - being - fostered greater awareness and attentiveness in her life. Discovering this was part of her impetus to deepen her practice and attend teacher trainings to gather further insight. From the first pause on a mat, she sensed the power that Yoga has to offer individuals, communities, and the world. Erin understood that Yoga impacts the practitioner, as well as the planet. The ripples of the connections continue to grow ever outward. Part of her ripple expansion is to share the practice.

Meditation, movement, and time outdoors in the wonders of Nature support her as a whole person, partner, mother of four, and business owner. Erin is grateful to have learned from many teachers and mentors over the years. She maintains a 500 HR E- RYT with continual life study and an ever evolving daily Yoga practice. Currently residing in Amherst, MA, she offers both in-person and virtual classes, private sessions, Yoga Therapy, Nutrition Education / Counseling, and Doula Birth Services, including birth education and preparation.
